Locations

[Visual aid coming soon eventually!]

The Drifting Land - A landmass approximately the size of Unova region, floating leisurely through the sky. It's cocooned in an egg of violent, high-speed winds that prevent its inhabitants from simply flying away. It is self-repairing to an extent, "healing" structural damage and drastic changes to the landscape.

Beyond Levanta Town and the surrounding area, much of its surface remains a mystery.

Levanta Town - A medium-sized settlement, seemingly as normal as can be. A wide, open plaza in the center of the town provides a convenient field for friendly battles, and can accommodate large crowds if needed. Along the main avenue, basic shops and services like a small grocery and a Pokemon Center can be found.

The town is surrounded by a two-mile-wide band of rolling meadow that the locals affectionately(?) call "the landing strip". Why? Because this is where most new arrivals "land", people, Pokemon, objects, and buildings alike. Small houses appear and vanish in "the landing strip" as needed, and more elaborate structures follow their owners; if there are any rules to it, they seem to be open to interpretation, but the Drifting Land's special guests are never without options.

The Villagers - Your average NPC townies. The people of Levanta Town go about their lives as usual each day, reacting appropriately to any imminent danger but mostly unfazed by guests' antics. They've grown up with this, after all.

They'll answer new arrivals' questions as though it's casual routine, if asked. What they have to say is this: the Drifting Land is a region that floats through the sky, peaceful on its own and livened up by the characters it draws in from the places it passes over. Don't worry, though, because you'll go home someday - until then, relax a little and enjoy this magical place!

The villagers have lived in Levanta Town all their life, and don't know anything about the rest of the Drifting Land beyond what can be seen from the town.
Landorus Shrine - A shrine at the north end of town, dedicated to Landorus, the local patron Legendary. Pay your respects or don't, but try not to damage or disrespect the shrine. The villagers won't like that, and it'll get you carted out of town.

Pokedrifting's setting is player-driven. If you have an idea for a location, or if your character creates or modifies a location, please comment here so that it can be recorded for your fellow players to see! The only restrictions we ask that you follow are that A) your location addition/edit does not contradict an existing location, and B) if other players or their characters will be significantly affected by your addition, that you communicate first with them before submitting an addition/edit.

So, for example, say Player A plays Red Gyarados, who has taken up residence in a lake somewhere in the Drifting Land. Player B, who plays Azelf, wants to make an island in that lake so that Azelf has a home of their own. Player B needs to clear this with Player A before coming to us. Once that's done, Player B can comment here to have it recorded.

If you have any questions regarding the setting or submitting locations, feel free to contact the mods. As of the last edit, Holo manages the locations page.
