POKEDRIFTING RULES
1. Play nice:
Treat others with the respect you wish to receive. Don’t be a jerk to other players. Avoid drama where possible. If there are problems with another player, please come to us and we’ll help you. While IC things are a different story, there will be no tolerance for any derogatory(homophobic, sexist, racist etc) language in the OOC community or chat.
2. Keep in mind basic RP courtesies:
This may be a DR but the same courtesies still apply as they do in games. No godmoding, infomodding/metagaming etc allowed! If your character has a godmode ability, don’t just spring it on the unsuspecting player. Use permission posts. Mind the IC/OOC divide. Don’t use your characters as a mouthpiece for your own views and don’t assume just because someone plays a jerk that they’re out to get you.
But what do all of these terms mean?
Godmoding/godmodding - When one plays a character that can never be destroyed, harmed, etc. The character, however, can hurt and/or kill the other characters without giving the other characters a chance. This also involves trying to force things on another player(like turning them into an animal without their permission) or taking control of a character that isn’t yours without permission.
Metagaming/infomodding - when your character has OOC knowledge they have no way of knowing.
3. Keep it PG-13
As we have a lot of underaged players (and characters), keep it kid friendly and keep it as a safe environment for them. If you want to play out anything with porn, graphic violence etc that’s fine but it will simply have to be played outside of the community.
4. Use warnings when appropriate:
This rule speaks for itself. If a thread suddenly takes a turn for the worse, please label your thread with the appropriate warning and put a note on your entry(ie warning: (content goes here)). If your entry contains content that requires content to be warned, put it under a cut and label it appropriately.
Material that needs to be warned for is basically any material that triggers a negative reaction. For example, an in depth description of self harm might trigger someone to inflict self harm or experience bad flashbacks. Other material includes abuse and violence.
5. Inappropriate AUs or OCs:
Basically, if your AU or OC revolves around fetishizing rape, mental illnesses, cultures etc, your post will be deleted and your character/AU banned. Like we’ve said before, this is meant to be a safe and happy environment for everyone. If you’re concerned that your character or AU may be offensive, contact a mod before introducing them.
Use your common sense - if you’re dealing with a very sensitive issue, please make sure that’s not all there is to your character/AU.
6. Any DR wide events must be run by the mods first:
I’m talking about things like Team Rocket take overs, Team Aqua trying to summon Kyogre - if it has the potential to affect the DR as a whole, please give us the heads up. This is mainly to keep events from clashing with one another and to give players a reprieve from floating island destroying events.
7. Ban system?
Basically, there are only two rules that will invoke an instant ban if broken: bullying and harassing another player and bringing in inappropriate AUs/OCs. The former is the only one that will apply to the player as a whole while the latter only involves the banning of said character. HOWEVER, if you repeatedly ignore mod warnings and continue breaking the rules, you’ll receive a ban too.
8. Have fun!
While some of these rules might seem a little scary, they are in place to ensure everyone has a good time here. Just follow these rules, respect your mods and your fellow players and things will go swimmingly. We’re all here to relax and enjoy ourselves, so dive right in.
